Instructions for Outlook XP and Outlook 2003 Email Users
How to configure mail checking time intervals
Images will appear below the instructions for the configuration.
These instructions are for users of Outlook XP and Outlook 2003 who would
like to set their email program to check their mail on a regular basis.
WeDoHosting.com requests that users do not set this any more frequently
than 10 minutes as the volume of users on the mail server can cause slow
downs for everyone. (just think about 10,000 users all asking for
mail every minute and what the server has to deal with - checking passwords,
looking for your mail etc.). Please respect the service.
Before beginning, please make sure that you have setup the accounts on
the mail server and in your email program. Mail server access is at http://mail.wedohosting.com
- login using the user ID and password that were emailed to you when
you signed up. If you have lost that information, you can have it emailed
to the email account you specified when you signed up for services by
going here: https://secure4.wedohosting.com/customer/
If you have not yet setup your account on your computer, you must do so
before proceeding with this section. Instructions on how to do this can
be found here.
| Step 1: Open up Outlook and click on the "Tools"
menu from the menu bar at the top of your program. A drop-down menu
will appear. Select "Options" and you will be taken to
the next screen.
|
 |
|
| Step 2: From the next screen, click on the
"Mail Setup" tab at the top, then choose the "Send/Receive"
option. |
 |
|
| Step 3: This is a global setting for all accounts.
You can check all if you wish, however please ensure that you do
not set this at any less than 10 minutes. When done, click on close,
then on "Ok" and you are done. |
